About the Department

The Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering was started by our Polytechnics Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering with the start of the Government Polytechnic itself in the year 1996 in a temporary building. The Diploma is of three years duration split into six semesters of four months duration contact period in each semester. The Diploma Programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, the Apex National Body for Higher Technical Education.

The Faculty members are well qualified as per the AICTE Norms and posses in depth knowledge of the Stream and ongoing technological changes in the IT industry. From academic year 2015-16, new Scheme of Studies based on Outcome Based Education (OBE), started for the first time in India for Diploma Education as per the Washington and Sydney accords , for which Government of India is a Permanent Signatory The new curriculum, named as C-15, has been framed by Subject Experts after consulting all the Stakeholders.
