The Government of Karnataka in order to strengthen the technical education in the state with the assistance of the World Bank has given approval orders to start a new Polytechnic at Sorab, Shivamogga (Shimoga) dist. in the 1993 and the Polytechnic started functioning from the year 1996-97 after getting necessary mandate.
